Medlar - Breda Giant

From the Netherlands, Breda Giant's fruits resemble extremely large bronze rose hips, just under 2" in diameter. A relative of the pear, medlars are sometimes referred to as northern loquat because of their long green leaves with a leathery appearance. Breda Giant is self-fertile. Late blooming to miss spring freezing it has showy white flowers. The tree is long lived and dwarf to about 8’.
