  • (Prunus americana) Very tough once established, this species plum can grow anywhere. At one time, there were hundreds of varieties of this plum and it is still used today as a rootstock for grafting due to its hardiness. Fruit color can vary from yellow to red. It is easy to grow and rarely has diseases or pests that affect production. Can be grown as a shrub or trained as a central leader tree form. 1 ½” Plums turn from yellow to red when ripe and are good eaten out of hand or used for jelly, jams wine etc. Better yields with two. 3-4’ branched trees
