  • Major- Originally from a native tree found growing in the Green River flood plain outside of Henderson, KY. named in 1908 There are many good features of this pecan, particularly its heavy annual bearing characteristic. Nuts are somewhat round, thin shelled, easy to crack, and probably the best flavor you can find in pecans. Major is a heavy early pollen producer and a Type I Pollen shedder 5.82 grams avg 78 nuts per l. 51% kernel fill
